Jimmy Bowlin Dilday
Jimmy Bowlin Dilday, president of Bowlin Funeral Home, Inc. is a native of Dresden, Tennessee, and a third-generation funeral director and embalmer. Graduating from Dresden High School in 1952, he worked in Chicago, Illinois and Lansing, Michigan in the automobile industry but returned to Dresden in 1956 and entered the Army. In 1957, he married Edith Crawford in Pickford, Michigan. After being discharged from the service, Jimmy attended

 

 

 

 

John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in 1958 and graduated in June 1959. Jimmy recently celebrated 52 years of service in the funeral industry. He served on the Tennessee Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers from 1983 to 1987, the last year as President. 
 
Jimmy is a 52 year member of the Dresden Rotary Club, where he has served as President and is a Paul Harris fellow. He was a charter member of the Dresden Jaycees, past member of the Volunteer Community Hospital Board, currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bancorp South, is a charter member of Dresden Elks Lodge 2373 (where he serves as Chairman of the Trustees), and is a member of the American Legion Post 94.
 
He and Edith are members of First Baptist Church Dresden, where he has been a member for 64 years. They enjoy family vacations, including cruises and showing their Tennessee Walking Horses in various venues around the Mid-South region. Jimmy and Edith are the parents of Marianne Moser of Memphis and David (Christy) Dilday of Dresden and the grandparents of Paige Dilday,an Accounting graduate of  the University of Tennessee at Martin and current Master's Degree candidate.
     

C. Kelley Swearingen
C. Kelley Swearingen is a native of Dresden and attended the Dresden School System, graduating from Dresden High School in 1972. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management. After several years in both grocery store and Dairy Queen ownerships, he entered the funeral service business in 1983. He graduated in 1985 from John A. Gupton College
 

of Mortuary Science in Nashville with an Associate of Science Degree in Mortuary Science.
 
Kelley holds dual licensure in Embalming and Funeral Directing. He is also licensed as a Pre-Need Funeral and Insurance Sales agent. He is married to Sheila H. Swearingen and they have 1 daughter, Shelley Swearingen. Kelley is an active member of First Baptist Church Dresden and serves on various committees.  He is also treasurer of the Dresden Sunset Cemetery Association Board.
  

Ronald L. Sellers
Ronnie Sellers was born to Martha and Buddy Sellers on Sept. 3, 1974. He was raised in Dresden and graduated from Dresden High School in 1993. He has 1 older brother, Tim. Ronnie married Stephanie Denton on September 30, 2000 and now makes his home in Greenfield, Tennessee. Stephanie is employed at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she is also a full-time student. They are the parents of 2 children, Hadley Jo and Aubrey Lynn. Ronnie attended John A. Gupton College of Mortuary
 

Science in 2003-2004. Ronnie began his funeral service employment at Bowlin Funeral Home in April 2006 and completed his apprenticeship in 2007. In January 2008, he passed all the state required exams to receive a license as a funeral director and embalmer in the state of Tennessee.
    

Sheila H. Swearingen
Sheila H. Swearingen is a native of Crockett County, Tennessee, and graduated with honors from Alamo High School in 1972. She also graduated with honors from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science and minors in Business and Education. Sheila is a retired state employee serving 30 years in the Departments of Correction, Children's Services and Probation and Parole. She served as an
 

Assistant Commissioner with Probation and Parole from 1998 through 2003. After retiring in December 2004, Sheila began her employment with Bowlin Funeral Home and served her apprenticeship in 2006-2007. She obtained her funeral director's license in April 2008.
 
Sheila is married to C. Kelley Swearingen and they are the parents of Shelley Holt Swearingen. Sheila is an active member of First Baptist Church Dresden, acts as President of the Agape Sunday School Class and serves on the Finance and Nominating Committees. She is treasurer of Woodmen Lodge 1149, First Vice President of the Dresden Lions Club, Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Weakley County Office on Aging, and formerly served on The Tennessee Baptist Convention Property Transition Committee. Both Kelley and Sheila have served as co-chairs of the Tennessee Iris Festival Committee.

DJ Plunk

DJ Plunk is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and resides in Dresden, TN. He graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science in 2009 where he received the Dodge Award for Excellence in Embalming. He completed his apprenticeship with Bowlin Funeral Home on March 22, 2011 and passed the Tennessee Laws, Rules, and Regulations exam on April 7, 2011. DJ has been employed at Bowlin Funeral Home since June, 2009. He is a 2008 graduate of Dresden High School. He is an active member of Dresden First Baptist Church where he teaches junior high Sunday School, helps in various capacities with music and the middle school and high school youth, and serves on the Youth Committee. He served his practicum at  Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. He has previously worked at McKenzie Funeral Home in McKenzie, TN and the former Gallimore Funeral Home in Gleason, TN. He is the son of Marty & Angie Plunk of Sharon, TN and has one sister, Courtney Plunk of Sharon, a Dresden High School student. His grandparents are Judi Jones of Sharon, TN and Trella and the late James Plunk of Sharon, TN.
