Listen to Obituary

God made a farmer on April 7, 1981, named Andrew David Oliver. At an early age, Andy displayed an amazing amount of grit, determination, hard work, and most of all, a kind and loving heart.

Andy walked through life with a tall stature, rough but tender hands, quick wit, contagious laughter, and enough random tidbits of knowledge & movie quotes to keep us in wonder and awe.

Growing up in the Ore Springs Community as a 7th generation Oliver farmer, Andy was surrounded by his parents David & Beverly (Roberts) Oliver, his grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. It is there, where Andy lived 45 years, that he learned how to “turn dirt” from his Papaw and Dad. Upon graduation from Dresden High School in 1999, Andy joined his family farm business full time. Andy spoke all things St. Louis Cardinals, Tennessee Vols, UTM Pacers & Skyhawks, John Deere tractors, and duck hunting. But most of all, his favorite topic of conversation was the love he had for his family and friends.

Andy was a member of the Dresden Quarterback Club, UTM Skyhawk Club, Weakley County Extension Committee, former Exalted Ruler and member of the Dresden Elks Lodge, #2373, and attended Dresden First United Methodist Church.

In 2012, Andy married his best friend and love of his life, Miranda Norris Oliver. Four years later, the spunky, funny, light of their life arrived, Drew Harper Oliver. Andy & Drew were two peas in a pod… or rather two tall cornstalks in an Oliver field! They loved hand-picking sweet corn together, always taking a bite straight off the cob while standing in the corn field. As a family, they enjoyed tractor rides, their annual beach trips, being fans in the stands, watching movies, laughing at TikToks, taking selfies with Snap Chat filters, and riding around with the windows rolled down loudly singing Tom Petty songs.

Andy resiliently faced a lifelong battle with hemophilia, and for the last six months, with an inspirational and positive attitude, put up a hard fight against cancer. Each day, he was surrounded by his strong, loving, and faith-filled family. While he will be greatly missed, we are comforted to know that on June 12, 2026, Andrew David Oliver felt an enormous amount of love and peace as he let go and joined the best “family gathering” in Heaven.

Andy is preceded in death by his grandparents T.J. and Louise Oliver, Ray and Dorothy Roberts, special aunts, uncles, & cousins, and most recently, his good boy dog-brother Tanner, who joined Andy in Heaven the next morning.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Dresden First United Methodist Church at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening at the church from 4 PM until 7 PM, and again on Tuesday from 9 AM until service time at 11 AM. There will not be any visitation at Bowlin Funeral Home. Andy is survived by his wife Miranda Norris Oliver, daughter Drew Harper Oliver, his parents David and Beverly Roberts Oliver, and cousin Jay Oliver.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Drew Harper Oliver Education Fund at Simmons Bank PO Box 169 Dresden, TN 38225 or the Dresden First United Methodist Church 105 South Church St. Dresden, TN 38225.
