Ann Carol McWherter, aged 91, from Dresden, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Weakley County Nursing Home. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Bowlin Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the service begins at 12:00 pm with burial following at Sunset Cemetery.

Born in Palmersville, TN, to Casey Shuff and Savannah Belle Olds, Ann was an ardent fan of Cubs baseball. She found joy in watching finches, gardening, and especially caring for her beloved irises. Her devotion to Mount Pleasant Church in Dresden was a significant part of her life. Ann showed love through cooking for her family and friends, one of her favorite past times. She is best known for her famous fried chicken. You would always find everyone fighting over the wishbone. Her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as their "lucky charm," a nod to her St. Patrick’s Day birthday, and she cherished playing an active role in their lives.

She is survived by her children: Dean McWherter, Deborah (Philip) McWherter, Carol Hurt, Dan (Nancy) McWherter, and Jeffrey (Tina) McWherter. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jake, Bret, B.J., Matthew, Samson, Ted II, Katie (Adam), Megan (Lance), Kelly (David), and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Benny McWherter; daughter, Sarah Schuller; son, Ted (Lisa) McWherter; and brother, Jerry Shuff.

Ann lived a long, fulfilled life, treasured by her family and friends.
