Barbara Jean Carr (Jones)

Ms. Barbara Jean Carr, 70, of Dresden, died Thursday December 5th, 2013 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services were Tuesday, December 10th at 2:00 PM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Union Grove Methodist Church Cemetery near Kenton, TN.

Ms. Carr was born May 31, 1943 in Covington, TN to the late Mode Oliver and Orell Russell Jones. She was a retired Scholarship Coordinator at UTM, Baptist by faith, and attended Grove Hill United Methodist Church where she served as pianist.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ted Carr, a daughter, Sherry Hunt, sisters; Lois Jones and Frances Simpson and brother, Malcolm Jones. She is survived by her son, David Hunt of Arlington, TN, daughter, Lisa Woods of Dresden, grandchildren; Bo Hunt, Amber Woods, and Misty Elder, great grandchildren; Luke Hunt, Everly Hunt and Alyssa Elder, brothers; Mode "Mokey" Jones, Morris Jones, Harry Jones, and Larry Jones all of Covington, TN, sister, Lee Hawks of San Diego, CA and special friend, Jerry Kelley of Dresden.
