Barbara Ruth Norris

Barbara Ruth (Pyrdom) Norris of Martin, TN, formerly of Lewisburg, TN passed away peacefully on September 11, 2023. She was 83 years old. She was born in Shelbyville, TN on October 16, 1939, to the late Glyndon Adkins Shaw, Horace Shaw Jr. (stepfather), and William Hopwood Pyrdom. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Russell Norris. Barbara was a wonderful wife and mother who was always there when her family needed her. She was a retired country music publisher and author of children's books. She was a life-long Methodist and a woman of great faith who loved family, friends, and community. She leaves behind three children Steven (Elizabeth) Russell Norris of Hopkinsville, KY; Stephany Norris Robinson of Martin, TN; James (Tabitha) Scott Norris of Martin, TN; seven grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Wednesday September 13, 2023, at Sunset Cemetery at 11:00am. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
