Billy Ray Burch

Billy Ray Burch passed away at Jackson General Hospital on 8/11/2024 at the age of 88.  Funeral services will be held Friday, 8/16/2024 in Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am.  Visitation with the family will be Thursday, 8/15/2024 at Bowlin Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again on Friday, 8/16/2024 from 9:00 am until service time at 10:00 am.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Wesley Burch and Cratie Jacobs Burch, his twin sister Bonnie Compton and his wife Mary.  He served in the Tennessee National Guard for over 42 years, most of which was full time with the rank of First Sergeant E-8 serving in the Gulf War, and 3 months in Equador, He graduated from Union University with a Theology Associate Degree and became an ordained minister.  He pastored Shady Grove Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church in Fayette County.  He continued his ministry while in the military and after retirement he did the jail ministry for 14 years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dresden, TN.  He is survived by his son Scott Burch and daughters; Teresa Burden and Melesa Eldridge, 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and step son Mike Jester.
