Our dad, Bobbie Dale Powers left this world on Monday, March 17, 2025,
at the age of eight-six. The Lord granted him a peaceful death. Visitation will be held at Bowlin Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2025, beginning at 10:00am until service time at 2:00pm. Bro. Billy Crowell will officiate the service. There will be no burial following the service. He was born on Wednesday, September 21, 1938, to Charlie Brown Powers and Lois Mae Edwards Powers in Sidonia, Tennessee. His name was spelled Bobbie because his father was hoping for a girl. Yet, he would now be the youngest of twelve boys. The only girl, Lilly Sue, was born three years later. Bobbie and his family, like most in the 1950's, moved north for employment opportunities. He graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1957. While visiting his remaining siblings here in Tennessee, he went on a blind date with a little Palmersville girl named Doris Jean Rockett. They were married shortly after on the 9th of October 1960. The couple made their home in Michigan for
sixteen years before returning to Weakley County. Five children were born from this union: Robert Powers, Scott (Andrea) Powers, Penny (Larry) Crowell, April (Donnie) Davidson, and Nicole Guy Casey. At the time of his passing, he was grandfather of fifteen, and great-grandfather
of seventeen. Bobbie is preceded in death by his parents Charlie Brown and Lois Edwards Powers; His brothers and their wives: Johnnie L. and Mary Elizabeth Rowland Powers, Charlie L. "Cotton" and Shirley Green Powers, Burnie E. and Mary Capps Powers, Louis T. "L.T." and Pansy Gaylord Powers, Guy W. "Dub" and Mina Taylor Powers, Dennis H. "Dink" and Nellie Green Powers, Pleas J. and Ruby Adkins Powers, William S. "Sherm" and Kathryn Berry Powers, Ray E. and Bettye Cavender Powers, Gay E. Powers (whose wife Joyce Smith Powers still resides in Holt, Ml), and James F. "Jim" Powers (whose wife Kay White Powers still resides in Murfreesboro, TN); and his
granddaughter Isabella Nicole Guy. Bobbie is survived by his spouse of sixty-five years, Doris Rockett Powers, his sister Lilly Sue (Maurice) Daman of Lansing, MI, all of his children and fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and his "Best Buddy,"
Pete. This life is never easy. Our dad lived with difficulties yet did not let it stop him from living. He will be missed by all that knew him.
