Bobby Howard Rice 79 of Dresden, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 3 pm at the Dresden Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Union City. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the church from 12 pm until service time at 3 pm. Mr. Rice was born in Hickman, KY on October 30, 1946 to the late Thomas Howard and Elsie Morrow Rice. He was a self employed painter, and attended Union City High School. He is survived by his wife Sheila Kay Taylor Rice who he married on March 20, 1965, sons Randy (Charlene) Rice of Nashville, and Rusty (Jessica) Rice of Dyer, grandchildren Jennifer (Brandon) Rice of Oregon, MO, Heather (Clay) Walker of Dyersburg, Anna Claire Rice of Dyer, and John Carter (Lily) Phillips of Dyer, great grandchildren Jaxon Schaeffer and Ella Schaeffer both of Oregon, MO, and Isaac Walker of Dyersburg. besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Sue Worrel, and a great grandchild Grant Walker.
