The Lord called Tech Sergeant Bobby Joe Walker home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Mr Walker lived in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Linda Walker, and a sister. Frances Corum, of LaGrange, Kentucky, three nieces, six nephews, eight great-nephews, five great-nieces, nine great-great nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Elois Walker of Stafford, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iversan Walker and Katie Walker Yates, three brothers, William, Cecil, and Kenneth Walker, and his step-father, Calvin Yates, and two sisters-in-law Opal Walker and Betty Walker.
Mr. Walker was born in Martin, Tennessee, on August 29, 1935, and moved to Dresden, Tennessee, where he attended school. His U.S. Air Force service sent him to Vietnam, Cuba, Christmas Island, and Germany. He retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1975, after serving 23 years, and relocated to Water Valley, Kentucky, where he then worked 20 years at the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dresden, Tennessee.
Military rites were observed at a graveside service at 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden, on August 11, 2012.
