Carthel Duane Wheeler, 95, of Latham, TN died Wednesday June 12, 2013 at the Weakley County Rehab & Nursing Center in Dresden. Funeral services were Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church near Latham, TN with burial following in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wheeler was born February 26, 1918 near Latham to the late Cylvester Harcourt and Florence Irene Payne Wheeler. He was a life long member of New Hope Baptist Church, a farmer, a gas station owner, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Dukedom Bank and the Weakley County Bank, and he attended Bible Union Grade School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Dell Winstead Wheeler; his second wife, Bonnie Holland Wheeler; his third wife, Ella Mae Black Wheeler; a step sister, Rachel Winstead; and three step brothers, Oran Winstead, Ralph Winstead, and Charles Winstead.

Mr. Wheeler is survived by four step daughters, Susie Henley of Memphis, TN, Jan Byars of Martin, TN, Diane (Jere) Crenshaw and Ricky (Kelly) Edmison of Union City, TN; two step sons, Larry (Linda) Pollard of Latham, TN and Jerry Pollard of Greenville, TN; 16 step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; and a cousin, Carolyn Milford of Blacklick, OH.
