Charles L Smith

Charles L. Smith age 89 of Dresden died on Monday, 11/11/19 at Weakley County Nursing and Rehab Center, visitation will be held on Saturday, 11/16/19 at Bowlin Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.  Graveside funeral services will take place on Saturday, 11/16/19 in Sunset Cemetery beginning at 2:30 pm with burial to follow the service.  Bro. Wayne Perkins will officiate the graveside service.  Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mrs. Janelle Cunningham Smith; his daughter, Tracy Smith; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melodye Leigh Smith.  He was a United States Postal Worker and a First Sergeant in the National Guard with over 30 years of service, during which he received the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, expert M16 Rifle badge.  He was deployed during Desert Storm.  He was a member of Dresden First Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge and Former President of the Dresden Elk's Lodge.
