Listen to Obituary

Charles A. Wenzloff passed away peacefully on 12.27.23. 77 years old, he was born and lived his adult life in New Britain CT.  He spent his last few years living with his niece and nephew Andrea and Daniel Hardy in Western TN where they all moved in late 2021.

Uncle Charlie, as he was affectionately called, lived a simple life.  Always, generous, never wanting anything but his Entenmann's donuts and spearmint striped candy.

Having grown up in an orphanage in New Haven and then going to Foster Care, Charlie started working at 16 years old.  He mainly worked in grocery stores and mini type marts and retired as an Asst. Manager for the bakery department at The Big Y in Plainville, CT.

He was the youngest of 4 siblings and was predeceased by his brother Raymond Wenzloff and his sister Joan Ann Hardy as well as his father Raymond Wenzloff and his mother Grace Gilbert.

Having never been married or had any children of his own most of Charlie's love went to his beloved cat Banjo.  A female calico stray he had for around 10 years.

He was also close to his remaining brother Robert "Bobby" Wenzloff. They spoke regularly on the phone. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins from CT, Maine and Tennessee.

Charlie was a good man, a simple man, a kind man. His presence will be missed. He will be laid with his father at Fairview cemetary in New Britain, CT at a date to be determined.
