Cornelius “Corn” Capps was born on December 17, 1974 in Paris, TN to Margaret and Neal Capps. Cornelius accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Dresden High School in 1993, where he excelled in football. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served
for 6 years in various places around the world, including North Carolina, Virginia, Italy, South Korea and Guantanamo Bay Cuba. After his military service was completed, he enrolled at the University of Tennessee at Martin where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Performance. Cornelius could always be seen on the fitness track at UT Martin or riding his bike around town. Always the life of the party. Corn was known for this free spirit, love of football and his boisterous laughter. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Capps. He leaves behind his father, Neal Capps of Paris, TN; daughter Kennedy Everett of Sanford North Carolina; siblings, Victoria Boyd and Nick Capps, both of Camden,
Antonio Capps of Nashville, Brandon Dotson of Dresden, TN, Charneal Capps of Memphis and Neal Capps of Orlando, FL.;
a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who cherished him greatly. Funeral services will be held at Fuller Street Baptist Church in Dresden, TN on Tuesday September 12, 2023, with visitation beginning at 1:00pm until service time at 3:00pm with burial to follow in Sunrise Cemetery.
