Danny Gale Jones

Danny Gale Jones, age 73 of Dresden, passed away Saturday morning, June 29, 2024, at his home. He was born August 21, 1950, in Martin, TN, to the late Alonzo and Ruth Eveline (Wright) Jones. Danny met the love of his life, Shirley (Stephens) Jones, in January 1971 while they were both attending University of TN at Knoxville. They married on August 22, 1971, in Knoxville, TN, and were happily married for 52 years. he is survived by his wife Shirley and their two daughters Jennifer (Scott) Akin and Cynthia (Tim) Evans. He has four grandchildren Dravin (Kylie) Irvine, Jadon Jones, Jacob Akin and Zachary Akin. He was a captain in the US Army, an active member of West Union Baptist Church, and a life-long participant in various and multiple community and Christian volunteer projects. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Bowlin Funeral Home from 4pm until 7pm and again on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 10am until service time at 11am at West Union Baptist Church. Pastor Terry Griffin will officiate the service.
