David Clark Shipton, Jr

David Clark Shipton, Jr, age 50, of Paris, TN, died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Weakley County on Saturday, June 15th, 2019.  David was born in Lafayette, IN on September 7th, 1968 to David and Betty (Lagenour) Shipton, Sr.

David loved collecting 'priceless junk' that no one else wanted.  He also loved Harley's, was passionate about his own Harley-Davidson, and was largely involved in the American Legion Post 55 Riders.  David was employed with BJ Potts as a professional truck driver.  He will be fondly remembered as the kind of guy who would do anything for anyone - just call and he was there!

He was preceded in death by his father in 2008 and nephew, Michael Downey in 2010.  Survivors include his mother; sisters, Robin (Brad) Wilson-Holtzman of Montclaire, CA and Debbie (Billy) Downey of South Fulton, TN; brother, Joseph (Gale) Shipton of McPherson, KS; two nephews, David (Sabrina) Downey of Calvert City, KY and Steven Downey of South Fulton, TN; two great nephews, Bo and Luke Downey, both of Calvert City, KY; and devoted friend, Lisa Darnell of Dresden, TN.

A memorial service and Poker Run will be held July 20th, 2019.  Specific details will be announced at a later date.
