Davis Woodrow Gibbons

Davis Woodrow Gibbons, Sr., 84, of Austin Springs, TN, died Friday July 31, 2015 at his home. A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Union Chapel Church of Christ near Palmersville, TN. at 12:00 PM.

Mr. Gibbons was born October 17, 1930 in Rutherford, TN to the late Richard Smith and Lellian Pearl Harrison Gibbons. He was a truck driver, a U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran, and attended Union Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Daniel Gibbons, Paul Gibbons, Joe Gibbons, Wayne Gibbons, and Hudson Gibbons and sisters Dixie Beall, Pearl Miles and Ruth Brundige.

Mr. Gibbons is survived by his wife Mary Leigh Grable Gibbons of Austin Springs, TN; son, Davis W. (Sheila) Gibbons, Jr. of Austin Springs, TN; brothers Jere Gibbons of Austin Springs, TN, Glenn Gibbons of Memphis, TN, and James Gibbons of Palmersville, TN; and sisters Alice Jackson of Memphis, TN and Justine Soro of Nesbitt, MS.
