Demetra Mitchell Beard

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Demetra Mitchell Beard, 82, formerly of Dresden, will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 11:00 am, at the Dresden First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the Dresden First United Methodist Church Saturday 2 hours prior to the service, from 9:00 am, until service time at 11:00 am. Demetra passed away December 30, 2018, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Demetra was born June 19, 1936, in Sidonia, to the late George William and Jessie Lee Wright Mitchell. She is survived by one son Bentley(Celene) Beard of Union City, daughters Lisa Kesterson of Paris, Amy(Paul) Cooper of Ridgeland, SC, and Betsy Beard of Martin, one brother Jack(Jane) Mitchell of Carson City, NV, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Demetra was preceded in death by her husband Tom Beard. They were the owners of the former City Drugstore in Dresden for many years. The Family has requested that in Lieu of flowers donations be made the the Dresden First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
