Donald Thomas Erwin

Donald Thomas Erwin, 82, of Clarksville, TN, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his wife and children. Visitation will be held Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bowlin Funeral Home beginning at 10:00am until 1:45pm. Friends and family may gather in Sunset Cemetery at 2:00pm for graveside services. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dianne Erwin, of Clarksville, TN. Together they raised four children who were the pride of his life: Tommy (Danta) Erwin of Martin, TN; Scotty (Wendy) Erwin of Murfreesboro, TN; Tammy Erwin of Clarksville, TN; and Dawn (Alex) Figueredo of Las Vegas, NV. Don was affectionately known as Grandpa to ten cherished grandchildren: Mason Erwin, Jack Erwin, Gracie Erwin, Cassidy Erwin Parrish, Presley Erwin McDonald, Macee Erwin, Payton Erwin, Madison Figueredo, Sofia Figueredo, and Anthony Figueredo. His heart grew even fuller with the arrival of his great-grandchildren: Finley, Riley, and Addie McDonald, and sweet baby Xailee Parrish­each a precious light in his final chapter.  He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Erwin and Delores Brand Erwin, and his brother Ron Erwin. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Don was a proud graduate of Lane Technical College. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis, stationed in a missile unit during one of America's most critical moments in history. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great­grandfather, Don built a legacy of love, strength, and dedication that will continue to shine through the generations he leaves behind. Don lived a full and blessed life, grounded in faith, love for his family, a passion for history, and the simple joys of fishing, tinkering, and sharing adventures with those he loved most. His strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in every life he touched.
