Dorothy Nell Dunn

Dorothy Nell Dunn, a precious woman with a big heart, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on April 17, 1928, in Bradford, Tennessee, Dorothy lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep love for those around her.

Dorothy was a skilled seamstress, a profession through which she expressed her creativity and care. She was also known for her affection for her cats and her devotion to attending church, activities that brought her great comfort and joy throughout her life.

She is survived by her cherished nieces Janice Cox and Paula Darnell; nephews Bobby Flippin, Randy Harris, Michael Landers, Ronnie Harris, David Bullington, Jerry Myracle, Donald Myracle, and Wayne Cox; as well as her great niece Megan Rae and great nephew John Rice. Their presence and support were a source of happiness for Dorothy in her later years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernice Dunn; her parents, Robert Lee Cox and Jessie Mae Hollingsworth; her daughter, Bettie Nell Sutton; brothers Robert Wayne Cox and James Thomas Cox; sisters Myrle Modell Landers, Joy Francis Cox, Betty Joe Harris, Daisy Nell Bullington, and Brooksie Myracle; and niece Debbie Flippin.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held on May 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin Funeral Home, located at 279 W Main St, Dresden, Tennessee 38225. Wayne Cox will officiate the service, honoring Dorothy’s life and legacy. Following the funeral, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Bible Union Cemetery in Martin, TN.

Dorothy Nell Dunn will be remembered for her tender spirit, her vibrant contributions as a seamstress, and her enduring love for family and community. Her memory remains alive in the hearts of all who knew her.
