Duane Smith, age 78 of Crutchfield Community, passed away May 10, 2026, at Diversicare in Martin, TN. He was born April 6, 1948, in Doniphan, Missouri. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dresden, TN, at 1:00pm. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Bro. Rick Majors will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Joseph Hall, Kenny Mathis, Stanley Hudson, Ralph Adams, Randy Adam’s, and Chris Hudson. Duane attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He worked many years at Tyson Food in Union City, TN. He loved spending time outdoors mowing grass for churches, cemeteries, and residents. He is survived by his three sisters Glenda Mathis of Water Valley, KY, Freda Hall of Clinton, KY, and Margaret (Tim) Nierman of Doniphan, Missouri, and his brother David (Marilyn) Smith of Clinton, KY. He is preceded in death by his wife Jo and his brother Denny Ray and his parents Dude and Elise Pigg Smith.
