Eddie Vaughn Ellis

Funeral services for Eddie Vaughn Ellis, 85 of Dresden, will be held Friday, December 7, 2018, at 2 PM, at Bowlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at Bowlin Funeral Home from 12 noon, until service time at 2 PM.

Eddie Vaughn Ellis died December 5, 2018 at Morningside of Jackson, he was 85 years old. He was born on March 5, 1933, the 3rd of 4 children of the late Buck and Flossie Ellis of Dresden. Mr. Ellis was married for 66 years to his wife; Mary Louise Doster. They were blessed with 2 children, Steve and Debbie.

Mary and Eddie managed the Weakley Co. Nursing Home for several years before building the Hillview Nursing Home in Dresden in 1966. From the first day it opened, there was always a waiting list. Hillview was well known for the excellent care given to its patients. They ran Hillview for 29 years before retiring in 1995.

Eddie loved goose hunting and fishing. He also loved going pheasant hunting in South Dakota every year. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandsons.

He leaves behind his faithful, loving wife; Mary, as well as his son; Steve and his wife Kim of Medina, TN.
His daughter; Debbie preceded him in death in 1985. He also leaves behind 3 grandsons; Bryan Sudberry of Simi Valley, CA, Kyle Ellis and his wife Becky of Trenton, TN, and Dusty Ellis and his wife Sherry of Bradford, TN. Eddie had 6 great grandchildren; Kylie and Bryson Sudberry, Katie and Brooke Ellis, Leah and Hunter Ellis.
