Eileen Miller Nichols

Eileen Miller Nichols, 98 of Dresden, passed away June 22, 2019 at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, TN. Mrs. Nichols, born June 5, 1921, was a lifelong resident of Dresden, and graduate of Palmersville High School. Mrs. Nichols and her mother, Malvenia Miller, were skilled seamstresses well-known for their custom clothing and crocheted baby booties, sweaters, and blankets. She was married for 35 years to her high school sweetheart, Ed Simpson, with whom she had one son. After Ed's untimely death, she married another Palmersville High School friend. S L Nichols, and considered herself lucky to have found a second chance at lifelong love. She is survived by her son James(Glenda)Simpson, two grandchildren, Andrea(Chris)Blaylock and Amanda(Matthew)Cienkus, and five great grandchildren, Jordan Dahlke, Jack Cienkus, Cate Cienkus, Kendall Blaylock, and Sienna Blaylock. She also leaves behind cherished lifelong friends Robbie and Gene Perkins, and Shelia and Randall McGowan. Shw was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, James S L Nichols, her parents, Owen and Malvenia Miller, and her first husband James Ed Simpson. Funeral services for Mrs. Nichols will be held Friday, June 28, 2019, at 12:30. at Bowlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday , the day of the service from 11:00 am until service time at 12:30 pm.
