Elwanda Shelley Cavin

Elwanda Shelley Cavin, age 82 of Tupelo, MS., passed away Sunday June 4, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born March 16, 1941 in Martin, TN to John Clarence and Effie Damron Shelley of Martin, TN. The family moved to Chicago when she was young where they lived until her teens when they moved back to Tennessee. She has lived in Tennessee, Illinois, Arizona, Florida, and lastly in Mississippi where she has lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the past 13 years. She had a deep love for dogs.She had a dog named "Tippy" and one named "Max" both who passed away and she had cremated. She also loved to read, loved roses, liked Starbucks coffee, loved shopping at Belk, and having lunch dates with her daughter. She also loved giving out hugs to the great-grands when they came over to the house. She is survived by her daughter Lynette (Jimmy) Lamb of Tupelo, MS., sons Jimmy Crawford of Simpsonville, KY. and Johnny Crawford of Martin, TN.; grandchildren Jenna (Danny) Moore of Oxford, MS., Joanie (Gabe) Bennett of Saltillo, MS., Jamie (Tanner) Watkins of Tupelo, MS., JT Williams of Tracy, CA., Shelley (Josh) Lambert of Martin, TN., Jordan Crawford of Branson, MO., Micheal Crawford of Seattle, Washington, Jacob Crawford of Simpsonville, KY., and Phoenix Crawford of Louisville, KY.; great-grandchildren Sarah and Danielle Moore of Oxford, MS., Mark, Gabbie, and Gracie Jo Bennett of Saltillo, MS.,James and Henry Alan Watkins of Tupelo, MS., Haru and Hiro Williams of Mountain House, CA., Elijah Swaim of Dresden, TN. and Arlo Lambert of Martin, TN., and a very special friend Robert Pfleuger of Dresden, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Effie Shelley, a son Keith Williams, a grandson-in-law Mark Morgan, and 3 husbands Jim Crawford, Charles Cavin, and Art Lindquist. There will be a graveside service on Thursday June 8, 2023, at 2:00pm at Eastside Cemetery in Martin, TN. Public visitation will be from 12:00pm until 1:30pm. Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden, TN is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tupelo/Lee Co. Humane Society in Tupelo, MS., because of her great love for dogs.
