Floyd "Cowboy" Mcalister

Floyd "Cowboy" McAlister age 84 of Cookeville, formerly of Palmersville, died on Wednesday, 1/8/2020 at Life Care Center of Sparta, TN.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, 1/12/2020 at 2:00 pm in Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Thompson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Bowlin Funeral Home on Saturday evening, 1/11/2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again on Sunday, 1/12/2020 from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 pm.  Floyd "Cowboy" McAlister was born December 19, 1935 to the late John William McAlister and Lovie Lawrence McAlister in Water Valley, KY.  He was a heavy equipment operator for many years.  He is survived by his wife, Verna Thompson McAlister, his two sons, John (Tricia) McAlister, and Kirk (Laura) McAlister, both of Cookeville, TN., his daughter, Cindy (Terry) Duncan of Bellevue, TN., his sister, Ambra Armstrong of Fulton, KY., 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  At the conclusion of  the burial, there will be a Pot Luck Family Gathering at the Oak Hill Mill in Palmersville, TN.
