Gerald M. Hudson

Funeral services for Gerald (Jerry) Mitchell Hudson were held Thursday February 15, 2018 at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden, Tennessee. Arrangements were overseen by Bowlin Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Crossno officiating.

Mrs. Hudson died on February 13, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was born February 18, 1927, in Hornsby, Tn, to the late Arlie Mitchell and Mattie Morton Mitchell Cox, Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Hudson;

brothers, W.K. Mitchell and Forrest Glen Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughters, Karyn Hudson Brown (Bill) of Dickson, Tennessee and Patricia L. Hudson (Bullets Gillespie) of Nashville, Tennessee.

Jerry was a member of the Baptist Church. She was primarily a homemaker her entire life, however once her daughters left to pursue college and careers she worked for a period of time at HIS in Trezevant, Tennessee. Her values were formulated by the lasting effects of the World Wars and the Great Depression, as her life was about hard work, saving for a rainy day and good manners.

Always a Southern lady,it was quality not quantity as we would search for the right dress or the perfect purse. She never lost her love for hot coffee an something sweet. Often starting an ending her day with the words "I believe I will just have a cup of hot coffee and something sweet" Jerry remained an independent lady until the end by the Grace of God, her strong will and her loyal daughters.
