Hattie Johnielene (Doster) Land went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2022. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 11 am at Bowlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Brocks Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation will be Saturday at Bowlin Funeral Home from 4 pm until 7 pm, and Sunday from 10 am until service time at 11 am. She was born on June 28, 1942, to the late John L. and Vepha A. Doster. She leaves behind her husband James L. Land and her three daughters and son in laws, Jolene and Dale Cunningham, Tinna and Doug Carmichael, and Angie and Robert Gertsch. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Christopher Cunningham, Syna Cunningham, Ashley Mealer, Johnnie Mealer, Jonathan Crawford, Jamie Crawford, Hannah Crawford, Cameron Carmichael and great grandchildren: Kamari Cunningham and Benjamin Bruer. Her brother, Jesse Doster, sister, Metta Sisk, several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her.
Hattie was a cosmetologist for over 50 years. She was an ordained minister for over 50 years. Hattie and James owned and operated 2 retirement homes and assisted living apartments for a total of 14 years, 2 daycare centers for over 5 years. She served as assistant Chaplin for the prison for 3 years. She dedicated her life to the service those in need around her. She shared her love of the Lord with everyone, from taking care of the elderly and homeless to sharing scripture and praying with people at the prison. She was an exceptional role model, true friend and advisor, loving wife and mother, but above all a child of God. She was loved immeasurably and will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
