James Craig Calvert

James Craig Calvert was born on July 31, 1954 in Union City to the late James Edward and Margaret Ann Hodges Calvert.  He passed away on September 10, 2020 at his home in McKenzie, TN after a brief battle with cancer.  Craig grew up in Memphis and graduated from Overton High School.  He attended UT Martin and Memphis State University with studies in Animal Science and Civil Engineering.  Craig joined the United States Air Force and proudly served in the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and Operation Enduring Freedom, retiring as Tech Sergeant USAF.  He was predeceased by his parents and wife, Marti S. Calvert.  Craig is survived by his brother Steve (Betsy) Calvert and nieces Madison Calvert and Rebecca Calvert from Germantown, as well as loving aunts, Virginia Jeter, Bettye Bell, Janis Featherstone, Susan Bradberry, Uncle Charles Hodges and many cousins.  A graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery in Dresden at 5:00 pm on Saturday, 9/12/2020.  Social distancing and masks are required by the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the West TN Veteran's Home, West TN Hospice Care in Jackson, or your local Humane Society.
