Jerry P. Simmons

Jerry P. Simmons 88 of the Ore Springs community passed away Saturday evening at his home. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 at the Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Burial will immediately follow. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Bowlin Funeral Home from 12 noon until 2 pm. Jerry was born in Cottage Grove on February 14, 1938 to the late J.C. and Gladys Mae Paschall Simmons. He was a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church where he was a deacon and song leader for 47 years. He is survived by his wife Betty Welch Simmons, son Mark (Jennifer) Simmons, 4 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie Hearn Simmons, son Michael Simmons, and a brother Bobby Simmons.
