Listen to Obituary

Lallie Mae Lowery Woods age 92 formerly of Dresden died on March 31, 2017 in Franklin, TN, at NHC Cool Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles "Coochie" Woods, her sister; Nova Bailey, her brother; Carl Lowery, and parents, Willie and Mae Lowery. Mrs. Woods is survived by her sons; Gary (Pam) Hall of Indianapolis, IN. and Michael (Cathy) Woods of Brentwood, TN. Grandchildren; Shannon (David) Schabel of Des Moines, Iowa, Charlie (Lori) Hall of Indianapolis, IN., Colin (Anne Barnett) Woods of Nashville, TN., Great-grandchilddren; Connor and Nathan Schabel of Des Moines, Iowa, Maddison, Faith, and Carter Hall of Indianapolis, IN.
Lallie was born March 13, 1925 in Milan, TN. Lallie grew up in the "country" in a small community outside of Milan, TN. Her family home was just out the back door of Fairview Church of Christ. Lallie was a "homemaker" and supported Coochie and family as they moved around the country from Jackson, TN., Tupelo, MS., Miami, FL., Houston, TX., Norfolk, VA., Dallas, TX., Chicago, IL., Lubbock, TX., Dresden, TN., and Franklin, TN. During these may moves, Lallie proved able to be able to make friends in church, with neighbors and maintained many relationships throughout her life. Her love and generosity toward her family was strong and enduring to the end. The end came after a struggle with Alzheimers. Lallie developed a nickname over the last several years, "Lipstick Lady", that silver tube was always in a nearby pocket. She became a "frequent flyer" at the Estee Lauder counter. The family would like to acknowledge many devoted caregivers over the last 4 years at Morning Pointe Brentwood, NHC Cool Springs Courtyard, and this last year the additonal love and touch of Hospice Caris Healthcare. The family requests that memorials be made to Moring Pointe Foundation-Advancing the Care of Seniors for Generations to Come-morningpointefoundation.com or Alzheimers Tennessee-www.alzTennessee.org.
