Lawrence Obra Sims

Mr. Lawrence Obra Sims, 84, of Como, TN, formerly of Selmer, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Paris Health Care Nursing & Rehab Center in Paris, TN. Funeral services were Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Lake Hill Memory Gardens in Bethel Springs, TN.

Mr. Sims was born December 17,1929 in Selmer, TN to the late Lonnie J. and Minnie McCormick Sims. He was an appliance salesman, electrician and farmer. Mr. Sims was a member of McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former member of the TN Army National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Etta Sims Johnson and a great grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Mitchell Sims, of Como, TN; two sons, Edward (Beverly) Sims of Kenton, TN and Darryl (Janice) Sims of Como; two brothers, Bobby (Geraldine) Sims of Selmer, TN and E.G. (Joy) Sims of Clarksville, TN; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and special son-in-law, Jerry Johnson of Henderson, TN.
