Lawrence Franklin "L.F." Whitney, age 85, of Dresden, TN died Friday, February 17, 2012 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Jolley Springs Cemetery near Dresden. Friends may call Sunday from Noon until service time at 2:00 PM. Mr. Whitney is survived by two sons, Mitcheal (Candy) Whitney and Curtis (Deborah) Whitney, both of Dresden; two daughters, Linda (Richard) Ellington of Paris, TN and Virginia (Tim) Weathers of Palmersville, TN; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a brother, Gerald Whitney of Martin, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Virginia Legens Whitney; a daughter, Kathy Sue Whitney; his parents, B. F. and Ora May Winters Whitney; two brothers, Howard and Ray Whitney; and a sister Louise Whitney
