“Lottie” Lieselotte Lorenz Cooper died at Paris Healthcare and Rehabilitation with her family present in Paris, Tennessee January 2, 2019. Lottie was 88 years old. She was born in Achtelsbach, Germany July 16, 1930, one of six children, parents being Ameilia and Wilham Lorenz. She was married to Billie Cooper of Dresden, Tennessee, while he was in the U.S. Airforce in 1955 in Birkenfeild, Germany. They came to the United States in 1956 to Dresden, Tennessee. Lottie had three children, William Alfred “Billy” Cooper, Dena Delores Cooper (Kenneth) Herane, and Eric Lawrence (Mistee) Cooper. After 29 years of marriage she and Billie divorced in 1984. She had seven grandchildren, Dray Workman, Chastity Workman, Jacob King, Alan Cooper, Savanna Cooper Dyer, Kelsey Cooper, and Selena McBride. She had 5 great grandchildren.

Lottie studied and became a citizen of the United States. Although, still loving her homeland of Germany, also. She pursued furthering her education in the United States.

In her life in the States she worked beginning at Baby Shoe Company, Dresden, was a wall paper installer and interior painter, and worked in the cafeteria in Dresden Elementary School. Then she began her final career in 1979 as a service aid at Northwest TN Economic Development Council, Dresden. She worked and served the area community for approximately 30 years. She was promoted to County Director in August 1985. She served in this position till she was 79 years old and her retirement on December 31, 2009. Lottie organized, through Northwest TN Economic Council, and along with American Legion Post 94, an annual Christmas Party for 60 to 70 underprivileged children in the Weakley County Area. Many local businesses and Churches help fund this. Lottie loved doing this for the children and community. She also worked with We Care Ministries and Woman’s Day Out Program as a volunteer. She was the Dresden Non-Rotarian of the Year in 2007. She received a certificate of recognition from John Tanner’s office. Lottie was always willing and ready to help anyone in need.

Lottie was a great Mother and good citizen. She was a child of God and a member of the Baptist Church. She was sick for the last three years. She is in a much better place with our Lord Jesus Christ. When thinking of Lottie, let her life encourage you.
