Madge A. Winstead

Madge Darnell Winstead, affectionately known as "Mim" to many, 85, of Dresden, TN, passed away on November 3, 2026, at Weakley County Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Odis Darnell and Gladys Bradberry Darnell, and two sisters, Mildred Asher, and Martha Joyce Roberts. Mrs. Winstead graduated from Dresden High School and then went on to earn a Masters Degree in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was also a devoted member of the Dresden First Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She will be remembered as a very strong-willed and meticulous woman, qualities that shaped the way she lived and cared for those around her. Madge leaves behind her granddaughter, Betsy McDaniel, who has her devoted caretaker, and by her great-grandson, Charlie Pete McDaniel. She is also survived by her grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dresden First Baptist Church building fund. At this time graveside services will be private.
