Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Hearn Simmons age 79 of Dresden who died on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Jackson Madison County Hospital were held on Sunday December 10, 2017 at Thompson Creek Baptist Church in Como beginning at 2:00 PM with burial that followed in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Mrs. Simmons was born April 10, 1938 to the late Herman Lee and Hattie Mabel Pritchett Hearn. She was a Weakley County School Teacher for many years in Dresden and a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church in Como. She is survived by her husband; Mr Jerry Simmons, her two sons; Mark(Jennifer) Simmons of Collierville, TN and Michael (April) Simmons of Dresden; Her sister; Julia Nell Thomas of Lawrenceville, GA. her grandchildren; Lauren, Holly, Lucas, and Garrett Simmons, her step-grandchildren; Alyssa Lilly, Holly Morris, and Emily Hammond, her step-great grandchildren; Emalyn, Declan, and Benjamin. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister; Mildred Shanklin.
