Martha Lynn Bates

Martha Lynn Bates age 82, passed away on January 27, 2018 at Diversicare of Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Bates were held on Tuesday, January 30 at 12 Noon in Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial that followed in Sunset Cemetery. Martha Lynn Crocker Bates was born to the late T.B. and Bunie Tennessee Crocker on August 27, 1935. She was retired from Bancorpsouth in Dresden and a long time member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Martha Lynn Bates was the wife of the late Mr. Joe Ray Bates, she is survived by her son; Steve (Amy) Bates of Martin, three granchildren; Chad (Leslie) Bates of Jackson, TN; Heather (David) Barker of Martin, Joey (Ashley) Bates of Mayfield, KY; five great-grandchildren, Maggie Joyner Barker, Reese Erin Barker, Roman Bates Barker all of Martin and Adelynn and Brooklynn Bates of Mayfield, KY. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son; Mr. Gary Bates. The family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Martha Lynn Bates at P.O. Box 96011 Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
