Marvin Edward "Ed" Morgan

Marvin Edward “Ed” Morgan, 81, of Sidonia, died peacefully in his sleep on June 11, 2026, at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in Florida. He never met a stranger. It has been said that he could go to the moon and know someone, because everywhere he went, he knew somebody. He was lovingly nicknamed, “Mouth of the South”, because he loved to socialize and talk with everyone he knew and met. His voice will continue to play on in the hearts of those who knew him, especially his favorite phrases, “sho nuff” and “okie dokie”. He was a retiree of the Weakley County Municipal Electric System. On the weekends and just about anytime the gates were open, he lived his passion of drag racing through announcing the races at Gleason Raceway Park. The racetrack was where his heart, mind and soul were happy because he was surrounded by, as he said, “The best friends a man could ever have”. Ed was also a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam era in Thailand and Cambodia. He loved to dance, listen to music, fish, hunt and “shoot the breeze” with everyone. Ed was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of over 51 years, Becky; he’s now reunited with her in Heaven. Ed has left behind many friends and family members that he loved and cherished deeply. His family includes his daughter, Crystal Ladd (Jason); son, Todd Morgan; grandsons, Collin Beauregard, Malachi Beauregard, Jason Morgan and Gunner Ladd; brothers, Gary “Pud” Morgan, Ronnie Morgan and Clay Van Morgan. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, James Harold and Vivar Elliott Morgan, as well as his brother, Andy. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Bowlin Funeral Home and his funeral service to take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, also at Bowlin Funeral Home. June 17 th also happens to be his wife’s birthday. Crystal believes that the date of the funeral is a divinely orchestrated serendipity; a wink to her from both of them from Heaven that all is well. Ed will be laid to rest right next to Becky in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sidonia as a gift to her for her birthday. Next to each other again physically and spiritually. Ed believed in and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He knew his soul would reside in the presence of God once he departed his life and work on earth. He is now fully embraced in love beyond comprehension and can now rest peacefully, eternally. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.
