Millard Harding Maxey

Millard Harding Maxey, 89, of Swannanoa, NC, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012. A native of Dresden, TN he was a son of the late Cannie and Thelma Gregory Maxey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Maxey, who died in 2009, a son, Richard Maxey, and brothers Leslie and Leonard Maxey. Mr. Maxey was an Army veteran, having served with General Patton during WWII. He lived most of his life in Dresden, was active with many endeavors, including swimming pool construction and storage building sales. He is survived by daughters, Anna Dawn (David) Creasman of Asheville, NC and Wendelene (Clyde) Mabery of Greenville, SC; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and a sister, Stella Coats of Dresden, TN. A graveside was conducted on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dresden, TN with the Rev. Clyde Mabery officiating.
