Mrs. Opal Mayo Covington Cerne, age 95, of Dresden, TN, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Hillview Community Living Center in Dresden, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Cerne were Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden, TN. . Mrs. Cerne was born December 12, 1915 in Dresden, TN to the late Lee and Nell Dilday Covington. She was a member of Dresden First Baptist Church. Mrs. Cerne is survived by a son, Eddy Cerne and a daughter, Cindy (Kerry) Cooper both of Dresden, TN; a sister, Agnes (Billy) Owen of Martin, TN; two grandchildren, Brittney and Beth Dane; two step grandchildren, Chad Cooper and Cassie Tarver; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Cerne; her parents, Lee and Nell Dilday Covington; a brother, Woodson "Woody" Covington and a sister, Frances Mezzacasa.
