Rev Billy Joe Patterson age 82 of Dresden, died on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Tennova Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Rev. Patterson were held on Monday, April 10, at 11:00 AM in Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial that followed in Sunset Cemetery. Bro. Bob Copeland officiated the service. Rev. Billy Joe Patterson was born June 21, 1934 to the late Sam and Mary Berking Patterson in Hickman, KY. He was a baptist preacher for over 49 years. He is survived by his wife; Katie Patterson of Dresden, his 2 sons; Danny (Regina) Patterson of Union City, and Kevin (Suzy) Patterson of Dresden, his 2 daughters; Debbie Patterson (Larry Fisher) of Henry, TN, and Stacey Patterson (Mike Cooley) of Martin., his 2 brothers; David (Brenda) Patterson of Crossville, TN. and Jimmy Patterson, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by his first wife; Bessie Gurley Patterson, his sister; Geneva Jones, and 1 great-grandchild.
