Roger Hoyt Ellis

Roger Hoyt Ellis, 77, of Dresden, TN died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Ellis were held Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial that followed at Travis Chapel Cemetery near Dresden, TN.
Mr. Ellis was born October 12, 1936 in Weakley County, TN to the late Buck and Flossie Davis Ellis. He was a road grader operator with the Weakley County Highway Department and a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Gleason, TN. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Elizabeth Newman Ellis, sister; Katherine Ellis, brothers; Charlie M. Ellis and Billy G. Ellis. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Shook Ellis, daughters; Kathy Ellis Watson of Dresden, Charlene Harris of Mandeville, LA, Charlotte Pierce of Gleason, TN and Sandy Dowland of Greenfield, TN, one son, Jeff Ellis of Sharon, TN, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a brother, Eddie V. (Mary) Ellis of Dresden, TN
