Samuel Egbert Young

Samuel Egbert Young, 86, of Dresden, TN, died Saturday January 25, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services were Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Liberty Cemetery near Dresden, TN.

Mr. Young was born August 1, 1927 in Weakley County, TN to the late John William and Iva Belle Bailey Young. He was a Security Policeman at Cape Canaveral, FL for 34 1/2 years, a member of Dresden First United Methodist Church, a member of Dresden Masonic Lodge #90 for 63 years, and a graduate of Dresden High School. He married Winnie Jane Edwards on September 23, 1951.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Jane Young of Dresden; two sons, Kerry (Kathleen) Young of Greenfield, TN, and Kenneth (Becky) Young of Greenfield, TN; five grandchildren, Carolyn Derry, Chris Young, Samantha Palazolo, Denise McCorkle, and Charlene Shepherd; four great grandchildren, Casey Derry, Dillon Young, Delaney Derry, and Gabriella Palazolo; and a brother James Young of Melbourne, FL.
