Terry R. Gaylord Sr., age 76, of Springville, Tennessee, passed away on February 15, 2026. Born on August 21, 1949, Terry lived a full-throttle life defined by hard work, service, laughter, and a deep love for his family.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, and his mother, Frances. He is survived by his loving wife, Judith; his brothers, James and Keith; his sons, Tim and Terry Ray (Liz); and his three cherished grandchildren, Aidan, Jaxon, and Coeli Mae, who proudly knew him as “Papa.”

Terry honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1972. Following his military service, he built a long career as a Teamster truck driver from 1969 until his retirement in 1994. He later worked as the maintenance supervisor for Weakly County Farmer's CO-OP, then as a farm implement sales associate for KBH Corporation retiring in 2022. Among his many accomplishments, Terry earned his private pilot’s license — a lifelong dream that reflected his deep passion for aviation.

Terry loved anything that roared to life — airplanes overhead, boats cutting across Kentucky Lake, fast cars, and motorcycles. He enjoyed being at the center of the action and never missed a chance to tell a story or spark a laugh. He truly never met a stranger. Though stubborn as a mule and firm in his belief that there was only one way to do things — his way — it was that same determination and larger-than-life personality that made him unforgettable.

Above all, Terry was immensely proud of his grandchildren. Being “Papa” was one of his greatest joys, and nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his family.

Terry will be remembered for his booming presence, his adventurous spirit, and the love he carried for those closest to him. His legacy lives on in the stories told, the lessons shared, and the family who will forever carry his strength and spark in their hearts.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2 pm at Bowlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday at Bowlin Funeral Home from 11 am until service time at 2 pm.
