Thyra Story Provine

Mrs. Thyra Story Provine, age 93, of Dresden, TN formerly of Paris, TN, died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Weakley County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Dresden, TN. Graveside services for Mrs. Provine were held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN. Burial was in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN.
Mrs. Provine was born in Stella, KY to the late Siegel and Hontas Enoch Story. She was a member of Paris First Baptist Church for over 75 years. She was married to H. Edgar Provine in 1939. She was a 1936 graduate of E. W. Grove High School in Paris, TN.
Mrs. Provine is survived by a son, Marshall S. (Deborah) Provine of Olive Branch, MS; a daughter, Paula P. (Tommy) Thomas of Dresden, TN: grandchildren, Jinny (Scott) Killebrew of Dresden, Molly Martin (Ryan Morrow) of Knoxville, TN, Lindsey Provine of Greenville, MS, and Matthew Thomas of Memphis, TN; and great grandchildren, Callen Killebrew, Caroline Killebrew, Lauren Martin, Ashlyn Dale and Hayden Dale. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Edgar Provine; her parents, Siegel and Hontas Enoch Story; a brother, Glenn Story and a sister, Sue Story Hurt.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dresden First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
