Tommy Byars Beard

Tommy Byars Beard, 78, of Dresden, TN died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at his residence. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Dresden First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Beard was born September 18, 1936 in Sharon, TN to the late Robert M. and Mary Olene Byars Beard, Sr. He was also preceded by a brother, Robert M. Beard, Jr. Tom was the retired owner of City Drug Store in Dresden for more than 30 years. He was a member of Dresden First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Beard is survived by his wife, Demetra Mitchell Beard, children; Lisa (Danny) Kesterson of Dover, TN, Amy (Paul) Cooper of Savannah, GA, Betsy (Brent) Jolley of Martin, TN and Bentley (Celene) Beard of Union City, TN, nine grandchildren and sister, Sandra (Jack) Matheney of Huntsville, AL.
