Verna L. Mcalister

Verna L. McAlister, age 84, formerly of Palmersville, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at NHC in McMinnville, TN. Visitation will be held at Bowlin Funeral Home Sunday, March 26, 2023 beginning at 12 noon until service time at 2:00 pm with burial to follow in Thompson Cemetery in Dresden. Verna was born to the late Otha Thompson and Aliene Woodruff in Dresden, TN. She is survived by her sons John (Tricia) McAlister of Dresden, TN and Kirk (Laura) McAlister of Cookeville, TN; step-daughter Cindy (Terry) Duncan of Nashville, TN; brothers Tony (Jerita) Thompson of Dresden, TN and Tim (Melinda)Thompson of Dover, TN; sisters Mary (David) Burnham of Dukedom, TN, Brenda Workman of Fulton, KY, and Sharlyn (Rupert) Williams of Murray, KY; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Cowboy" McAlister, and three sisters, Sheila Weatherford, Sandra Taylor, and Carolyn Legens.
