Wendy Gail Maddox, born October 21, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on June 8, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was a cherished figure in the lives of many, remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her.
Wendy was a devoted member of Hodge's Chapel Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her commitment to her church and community reflected the depth of her character and the generous spirit she extended to all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Maddox; their son Michael Maddox and his wife Jamie; along with five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who brought immense joy and pride to her life. The family also mourns the loss of her daughter, Kelly Fowler, and her parents, Avery Hannings and Bonnie Louise Cavin, who preceded her in death.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones for visitation on June 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on June 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, both at Bowlin Funeral Home, located at 279 W Main St, Dresden, Tennessee. The funeral service will be held at Bowlin Funeral Home on June 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Bro. Brian Gallimore and Bro. Roger McPeak will officiate this service, honoring Wendy’s memory and celebrating her life. Following the service, burial will take place at Cate Cemetery in Martin, Tennessee.
Wendy Gail Maddox’s life was one marked by love and dedication to her family and community. Her legacy will continue through those she loved so deeply, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered with great respect and affection.
