Wiley Thomas Higgs

Mr. Wiley Thomas Higgs, age 83 of Martin, TN, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, TN. Funeral services for Mr. Higgs were Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Sunset cemetery.

Mr. Higgs was born January 12, 1931 in Weakley County, TN to the late Oscar and Eva Hopper Higgs. He was a supervisor at the Fred Stoker Tobacco Company, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J.B. Higgs.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Ezell Higgs of Martin; a son, Paul Higgs of Dresden; three daughters, Diane McCain of Gleason, Connie Rachels of Sharon, and Donna Schleicher of Nashville; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Higgs of Dresden; and a sister, Ruby Burton of Hornbeak.
