William Clay "Bill" Ray, 70, of Union City, TN died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his residence in Union City. Funeral services were Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Union City with burial following in Eastside Cemetery in Martin, TN.
Bill was born September 29, 1943 in Martin, TN to the late Harlow Thomas and Nell Ruth "Jacque" Bowlin Ray. He was a maintenance supervisor at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Union City for 32 years, a member of the Masonic Lodge #538 in Union City, an active member of Union City First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Hope Sunday School Class, and a part time salesman at Abernathy Harley Davidson in Union City. He married Sue Freeman on April 25, 1999. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Travis Ray.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sue Freeman Ray of Union City, TN; a son, Darren (Karen) Ray of Union City, TN; two daughters, K. K. (Greg) Robinson of Greenfield, TN and Leslie (Brent) Little of Greenfield, TN; six grandchildren, Dustin (Brandy) Ray of Obion, TN, Katelyn Ray of Union City, TN, Mallory Robinson and Tony Robinson of Greenfield, TN, MaKayla Little and Brenley Little of Greenfield, TN; one great grandchild, Gunner Ray of Obion, TN; and a sister, Penny Lynn (Jesse) Tucker of Melbourne, FL.
