William David Bradley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born on April 20, 1939, in Hickman, Kentucky, William lived a life marked by kindness, service, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.
William dedicated a significant part of his life to the U.S. Army, where he proudly served as a Master Sergeant and fought valiantly in Vietnam. His military service defined much of his character, instilling in him a sense of discipline and commitment that he carried into all aspects of his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley Bradley, whose partnership brought joy and strength to his life. William will be deeply missed by his children: son Ivan (Pamela) Bradley; and daughters Lori McDunn, Natalie Bradley, Gloria Browning, Donna Smith, and Cynthia (Junior) Angel. His legacy lives on through his twelve cherished grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
William is predeceased by his parents, Noble Bradley and Sue Smothers, his brother Eddie Cagle, and his sister Virginia Hickerson. Their memories will forever remain intertwined with his as he joins them in eternal rest.
The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects during visitations at Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden, Tennessee. The first visitation will take place on October 5 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a second visitation on October 6 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral service honoring William's life and service will be held on October 6 at 11:00 AM, officiated by Terry Griffin. Following the service, William will be laid to rest in the Hickman City Cemetery in Hickman, Kentucky.
William David Bradley’s life was one of remarkable service and love, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
