William Barton "Bill" Sheffield

William B. "Bill" Sheffield, 80, of Dresden, TN, died Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Weakley County Rehab & Nursing Center in Dresden. Funeral services were Monday, November 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors and burial following in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden.

Mr. Bill was born August 2, 1935 in Glade Springs, VA to the late Grey and Elizabeth Norris Sheffield. He was a retired U. S. Army Master Sergeant of the Korean and Viet Nam eras (25 years), a Walmart employee for 18 years, and a Baptist in faith. He married Gertie Parker on December 21, 1961. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Sheffield and Carl Sheffield; and three sisters, Martha Farris, Betty Cox, and Ann Henderson.

Mr. Bill is survived by his wife, Gertie Parker Sheffield of Dresden; two daughters, Phyllis Dale Sheffield of Dresden, and Tracy Elaine Shepherd of Alexandria, VA; a brother, Jim Sheffield of Rileyville, VA; three sisters, Mary Grey Davenport of Wilmington, NC, Jo Sexton of Summerfield, NC, and Georgia Kaser of Columbus, OH; and several precious nieces and nephews.
